Welcome to Hosted Social Play with Beach Mahj
At Beach Mahj, we believe Mahjong is about friendship, laughter, and community. Our Social Play sessions are open to all skill levels and designed to bring people together through the joy of the game. Whether you’re new to Mahjong or already calling “Mahjong!” with confidence, our tables are open, welcoming, and full of coastal charm. Please note: social play is not a lesson — some experience is required.
We follow NMJL rules and general table etiquette, but each group is welcome to agree on light “house rules” if everyone’s on board — always with respect and without judgment. If you prefer strict NMJL-only play, we’re happy to introduce you to other wonderful local groups that focus on that style. Our gatherings are about fun, not competition. This is social play, not tournament play — we don’t play for money, we play for joy, laughter, and connection.
During Social Play, you’ll JOIN the wonderful ladies of the Beach Mahj Social Club — an invite-only sisterhood that adds a little sparkle to every game. Members keep track of their winnings, earn pink flamingos for bragging rights. Join the group for the evening and collect Mahjong tickets for prize drawings and earn your very own pink flamingos! It’s all in good fun, and every game is a chance to make new friends and lasting memories.
So come join us! Enjoy playing Mahjong filled with laughter, pink flamingos, prizes, and coastal camaraderie — where every tile brings us a little closer together.
Play with Grace & Good Energy
Experienced players, please show extra grace to those still learning — it’s all about your delivery! We play to have fun, build community, and grow our game together. Rude or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in dismissal from the event. Let’s keep it kind and coastal!
Late Arrivals & Groupings
If you’re running late, no worries — we may just ask you to sit out briefly until a group finishes a hand.
In the event of a no-show, we may need to rearrange tables so that everyone can play (we’ll always try to avoid two-player tables!). If asked to move, please be flexible — we promise you’ll meet someone wonderful wherever you land.
At Beach Mahj, we believe Mahjong is more than a game — it’s friendship, laughter, sandy toes, flip-flops, and a splash of coastal sunshine.

Pick your location and time, sign up online, and your spot at the table is set! You’ll play alongside a mix of locals, seasonal regulars, and fun vacationers — instant new friends guaranteed.
3. Show Up & Play!
We bring everything — tiles, racks, mats, and scorecards. You just bring your coastal spirit, your curiosity, and a smile.
